Kara Clayton, LCSW, EMDR and Brainspotting Trained
Kara Clayton is deeply committed to walking alongside adults and teens in the healing process. She specializes in treating trauma and uses a neurodiversity lens to help teens, adults, and families explore where ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia may be impacting daily stress and relationship struggles. She is LGBTQ+ inclusive, and is 12-Step friendly. Kara is skilled in working with family members of alcoholics as well as survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and abusive relationships. Kara also walks with clients through major life changes such as divorce, early adulthood transitions, loss of a loved one, and empty nest.
Kara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in EMDR and Brainspotting. She also incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS), with techniques for healing the inner child and fostering self-compassion. These evidence-based approaches provide a way to process the pain, release what feels “stuck,” and together discover new ways forward.
Kara knows that life’s challenges can sometimes feel isolating or impossible to manage. Anxiety, depression, grief, panic or overwhelm can leave us feeling too alone and unsure how to move forward. Kara offers a safe, compassionate space where people can feel seen and heard, find accompaniment, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
